Recently ive been gettin really pissed off with the christian societies that come knocking on my door giving away free food&drink in exchange for hearing their long winded speech about why christianity is the religion for you etc, etc and how you should join the progressive catholic society or whatever they represent.

1. Atheists believe that there is no God.

Yep Pretty much right, however what you have to realise is that thats not a bad thing in our eyes, to us its like saying you dont beleive in the easter bunny.

2. Atheists think they're better than everyone else.

Not true. Most atheists recognize that everyone is the same, regardless of personal stance. Believing that you're better than someone is an act of ego, not atheism, and can apply to anyone.

3. Atheism is a religion.

Atheism isnt a religion,its merely a lack of beleif in a god. The only religion like quality it has is that lots of people choose to support it, if thats all you need then then most football clubs are Religions. It is not, however, an actual religion, such as Christianity, because it doesn't consist of a belief system and doesn't acknowledge the existence of higher powers or the supernatural.

4. Atheists have no morals and are bad people.

Um, no. This misconception is nonsense, spewed by uninformed people. Morality comes from a respect and compassion for other living things, not from following a set of predefined rules. Atheists live by the same moral code as everyone else. Some are very moral people, with loving families. As with everyone else, though, there are the random bad seeds.

5. The goal of atheism is to undermine faith in God.

Again, no. Atheism has no goal or agenda. You're free to believe in whatever god you want. Atheists just want to be allowed to live their lives, without being constantly subjected to your beliefs or the beliefs of others. It's only when they're not allowed to that they begin to feel the need to vent out of intolerance and frustration, as would anyone who is forced to endure dogma which they do not subscribe to.

6. To be an atheist is to be unhappy and directionless.

Propaganda from the religious community. Many atheists set their own clear goals and work towards reaching them. They, also, live happy, fulfilled lives, with very few, if any, regrets at the end.

7. To be an atheist is to serve Satan.

Uh, no. Atheists don't believe in Satan, either.

8. Atheists eat babies.

Oh, yeah, there's nothing an atheist likes more than infant-on-a-stick, personally i prefer mine with a light honey glaze and a good glass of Port. No, atheists do not eat babies.

9. Atheists are just people who haven't found a religion that suits them.

No, atheists are people who have no use for religion.

10. Atheism is bad for society.

Actually, a recent study has shown that people use religion to justify murder, suicide, torture, theft and many other crimes. Wars have also been justified by it, in the past and the present, whereas atheism has no god figure to appease by such actions. It seems that religion is actually bad for society, rather than atheism.

11. Atheists will go to hell and burn in fire for eternity

Two holes to pick in this arguement,
first atheists dont beleive in hell
second after your dead as far as were concerned ur dead and can be burned with no pain or knowledge of it.

The Ashes WOOT!

well englands cricket team finally did it for the first time in 18 years we won the ashes from australia, almost makes up for gettin bhuttsecksed by ireland in the world dcup qualifyers.... but i digress. this was a really closely played ashes too with some tests coming down to less than two wickets and it woz fun to watch too even with the trouser soiling action.
one thing that always strikes me though is except footie english fans dont get upset if they lose, whereas has anyone ever seen the australian fans? they start breaking down, part of this i reckon is because of a diffferent sporting philosophy, whereas when we lay well train up to it then on the day its ok if we win and its not so bad if we lose coz we can go down the pub after. whereaswhen the australians lose they either go all-out celebrating or sulk off home if they lose. (the exception is footie which we do get worked up about) resulting in it being a big thing when we win, not because weve won but because they make a big deal out of losing.

wwoot only a week or so till my life as a UNi student starts, cant fookin wait, but still havent heard from the bastards about my accomodation. gettin a bit agitated i must say. hopefully ll hear within the next few days. havin a lazy few days, just chewin the fat and relaxin now that the wankers next door are back at school/collectin the dole, ah well cud be worse i coud be in new orleans. ah well there own fault reallly for the tanks obcene contribution to global pollution, thatll teach em to reject the kyoto protocal when 4% of the worlds population produce 25% of the pollution like america does its just sick and completly irresponsible. but what do you expect when their president is owned by their energy industry?.

I Love GMAIL!!

my encounter with email has been a long stressfull one and me and email dont always see eye to eye, lets trek back in time to when i first discovered email, i signed up for a free hotmail account of mouldy@hotmail.com wow it was new and exciting (hey i was 14 dont laugh)it was fun, the web was far safer and less virulent in those days and i found that hotmail+outlook roxxored. so i received email and it was good. then one day about 6 months later the computer just stopped working, something had fucked it once you logged in it restarted, luckily my dad had bough this upcoming new thing called norton 2002 it found a virus was in my email folder, and outlook finally showing its true colours had kindly allowed it access to the entire system. in order to counter this evil i went back to using my browser to access hotmail but it was ghey and hotmail loaded slowly half the time, and the deluge of spam no longer filtered meant a new account every month or so was needed till it became mouldy_18@hotmail.com and i discovered operas mail client and i was happy again untill the bastards at micro$haft decided to remove pop from free accounts!! fast forward to the present, i now have gmail and i must say IT ROCKS seriously anyone still with msn snotmail is missing out, gmail+googletalk are the greatest thing for email ever! and i can even set it up inside mozilla thunderbird so i am happy again in linux and im in the process of migrating from hotmail to gmail :) the evil empire just lost one more point from its already low rating your days are numbered micro$haft....

Sooo world leaders are meeting to discuss primarily the fact that north korea has nukes, the last one ended as most things do due to americas refusal to negotiate, last time it wanted everyone to agree to never make nukes despite the fact it has enough to destroy the planet 6 times over and is making more advanced types each year this time the US has declared that it wont Talk about peace until NK gets rid off all its nukes, well the dictater of korea i beleive should ask for a fair deal, if he gives up all his countrys nukes then Dictator Bush should make his country give up all theirs.
If they try to set themselves up as police of the world then theyve got to respect the basic law of policing which is innocent until proven guilty the way they act at the moment is more like a protection racket, "you do what we say or we send round the heavys"
America needs to change its way of dealing with the rest of the world or face the fact that everyone else will turn their back on it.

I think I know how people get dragged into loving things like Americanism and Necrophilia and Cannibalism. What? They do. Shut up and let me make my point.

Have you noticed the sharp twist into an almost subliminally demanding tone that all adverts take nowadays? I remember when i was just knee high to a grasshopper and i the only worry i had in life was not to shit myself in the glades. Wherein people who wanted your business would ask you nicely if you'd like to partake in their product offering and later you'd love to purchase their wonderful product or realising it stinks just walk away. Mostly this applies to deoderant, but it could just as easily be seeyoo jimmy hat sales.

Lately, however, in print, radio and television ads, there is a insistence that you ACT NOW! or COME ON DOWN! or DON'T GO AWAY! They aren't asking, instead rather like an annoying christian fanatic. They're adamant.

This has become especially true on television, in the promotion of an upcoming show or, even more shamelessly, in the promotion of the current show. You will hear the announcer constantly voice over your need to STAY TUNED! or STICK AROUND! or TUNE IN FOR THE NEXT...! or DON'T GO ANYWHERE! WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK!

Motherfucker, don't tell me what to do.

I know how television works by now. You show stuff, then people sell me stuff and then YOU COME BACK. It is one of the great unwritten laws of the universe. We have a social contract you and I. Don't go fucking it up with demands every five minutes. If I have to go somewhere, you'll have to learn to accept it. I need my freedom.

Also, I know the human attention span is as long as the average bloke is smart, but do you have to spend five minutes at the beginning of every show telling me what happened last time, then eight minutes within the show "flashing back" to previous Violence/touching moments/sexy betrayals, then two minutes before every commercial telling me what's going to happen as soon as the commercial is over? If you don't have enough actual content to make a show, don't cheat. It simply patronizes us both.

I know why you do it, of course. And fair play to you, if people are fucking retarded enough to fall for and buy into this shite then youll play the fools like so many broken fiddles. If you insist frequently and loudly enough, they will comply. For instance, if, every 30 seconds, someone tells you to WATCH THE NEXT ALL-NEW EARTH-SHATTERING EPISODE OF SPACE LEECH 6 THE SECOND COMING!, it will eventually soak into your subconscious. And you will inevitably have the following conversation:

You: Oh shit, its Martin

Martin: "Hey, whats up?"

Martin: "OH MY GOD! Did you hear what happens in the next episode of Space Leech 6 the second comeing!??!"

You: "I heard it's supposed to be really good. It's a new one, right?"

Martin: "YES! And I heard a review or something where someone said it was supposed to be totally EARTH-SHATTERING!"

You: "Martin, you're a stupid, spoiled Boar-Faced twat and I've never liked you."

Martin: "OH MY GOD, I KNOW. But seriously, you've got to watch Space Leech 6 the second comeing tonight. For real."

You: Go die in thamesmead :P

Harry Potter, Labour and Chavs

One of the top storys in the news today is the :shock: leaking of harry potter now i personally think harry potter is fine in its element, a book for 6 year olds. what makes me hate it is the way it is marketed as "everyone should read this" and then abused for rights to follow up games, mugs, t-shirts, brooms etc. The fact that they succeed is another inevitablepointer that society is dumbing down more and more. The countrys favourite pastime is evening telly and one in six people under 25 think its cool to have committed a crime, labour has identified chavs as a voting group and we are statistically at the biggest lapse in general intelligence since before 1962. The way we are headed it wont be long till half the countrys a loser who thinks its cool to be a fuckin retard and that being called clever is an insult, oh wait thats already happened with the chav revolution. btw does anyone know what a "neeb" is? its an insult used for if u pass your GCSE's, fuck it im moving country.

soo Opera has released the beta version of its 8.02 web browser, with a BUILT-IN bittorrent client, imo another feature which will put it ahead of IE and firefox, being a proprietory company is fine if u listen to your customers, dont abuse them and truly make exceptional and well innovated products (unlike micro$hite) and Opera certainly does this

Reality TV

"its 10pm in the big brother house, Hairy scratching his nuts and farting is beginning to irritate the other housemates who appear to be formulating a plan to force feed him a live chicken...." unfortunately in reality big brother is a hell of a lot less interesting than that. Im not a fan of reality tv programs. i cant stand watching them for more than a few minutes before retreating in the horrific realisation that everyday life is totally anal. we all know that dave on the street is a sad fucker whilst eastenders hints at this in a more subtle way, big brother and its ilk prove it beyond any reasonable doubt. Surely the point of TV is to escape and abolish reality and replace it with something more colourful and exciting. People might say that i should improve reality instead of shunning it, well the reality i see is one where i do a lot of farting and nut-scratching whereas the unreality where i own a jag and live in a mansion is far more appealing place for me to exist during my leisure time.
